This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from solocandles.com (the “Site”).

  1. Personal information we collect

  • When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically collected information as “Device Information”.

  • We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
    - “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
    - “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
    - “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

  • Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, email address, and phone number). We refer to this information as “Order Information”.

  • Please note that when we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

  • Our policy is subject to update without notice. It is your responsibility to check for changes.

  • How do we use your personal information?
     

    • We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
      - Communicate with you;
      - Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

  • We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

 

Google Analytics

  • To provide website visitors with more choice on how their data is collected by Google Analytics, Google have developed the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on [https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout]. The add-on communicates with the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) to indicate that information about the website visit should not be sent to Google Analytics. The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on does not prevent information from being sent to the website itself or to other web analytics services.

  • We may where necessary, transfer certain personal information outside Nigeria to outside companies working with us or on our behalf for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement. We will also typically store personal information outside of Nigeria, for our data back-up purposes. 

  • Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights as provided under section 2.3 (c) above.

  • In general, you are not required to submit your personal information to process your purchase. We will ask for your permission for certain uses of your personal information outside the perfection of your purchase, and you can agree to or decline those uses. If you opt-in for certain services or communications, such as an e-newsletter, you will be able to unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions included in each communication. If you decide to unsubscribe from a service or communication, we will try to remove your information promptly, although we may require additional information before we can process your request.

  • As described in paragraph 3 above, if you wish to prevent cookies from tracking you as you navigate our sites, you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Note, however, that some portions of our sites may not work properly if you elect to refuse cookies.

  • If bawdens processes personal information about you, you have the following rights: You have the right to access to that personal information we hold about you. Before providing personal information to you, we may ask for proof of identity and sufficient information about your interactions with us that we can locate your personal information. If the information we hold about you is incorrect, you are entitled to ask us to correct any inaccuracies in the personal information. You may equally ask that your personal information be updated where the information we have on record is out of date.   • You have the right to object to us processing your personal information if you believe we are not entitled to use it anymore. 

  • In addition, you may have the right to have your information deleted if we are keeping it too long, have its processing restricted in certain circumstances and/or to obtain copies of information we hold about you in electronic form.

  • When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

  • We may amend or modify this privacy policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we make changes to this statement, we will revise the “updated” date at the top of this page.
